We’ve compiled the most common questions to help you prepare for your stay at Walden Woods. Find answers to our check-in process, cabin amenities, & activity details.

What time is check-in and check-out?

Check-in is after 3 pm, and check-out is by 11 am. Early check-ins may be available upon request. Contact us for availability.

Do the cabins have Wi-Fi?

Yes, all our cabins are equipped with Wi-Fi, though cell service may be spotty due to the mountain location.

Are pets allowed at Walden Woods?

Unfortunately, we cannot accommodate pets in our cabins to maintain a peaceful environment for all guests.

Is there parking available at the cabins?

Yes, each cabin has dedicated parking spaces in the gravel lot near the cabin, with plenty of room for vehicles and trailers.

Can we ride ATVs directly from the cabin?

Yes, Walden Woods offers direct access to the North Cumberland WMA ATV trails. You can ride straight from the cabins to over 400 miles of trails.

What kitchen amenities are provided?

Each cabin has a full kitchen with a refrigerator, stove, oven, microwave, and basic cookware.

Are towels and linens provided?

Yes, all cabins come fully stocked with towels, linens, soap, and shampoo.

Is fishing allowed on the property?

Yes, Walden Woods has two stocked ponds where you can fish for bluegill and largemouth bass.

What should we do if we see wildlife?

Please do not feed or approach wildlife, and keep all food and trash secured indoors to avoid attracting animals.

Is there a minimum stay requirement?

Yes, there is a 2-night minimum stay requirement for all cabins.

Is there parking available for trailers?

Yes, there is ample parking available, including space for trailers and ATVs.

Do the cabins have air conditioning and heating?

Yes, all cabins are equipped with air conditioning and heating to ensure a comfortable stay year-round.

What is the cancellation policy?

Cancellations within 30 days of check-in will result in a full charge, but the cleaning fee will be refunded. A $100 cancellation fee applies for cancellations more than 30 days in advance.

How do I access the cabin?

You will receive a keypad code for self-check-in. Check-in is flexible after 3 PM.

Are there any local restaurants nearby?

Yes, several local restaurants are within a short drive, including B&B Market, Creekside Market, and The Royal Lunch.

What should we do in case of an emergency?

In case of fire, use the fire extinguisher located in the kitchen, and always fully extinguish BBQ grills and fire pits. For emergencies, dial 911.

  We reached out to a group on Facebook about a place to stay that would accommodate two groups of people heading to Royal Blue for trail riding.  Lucky for us, someone recommended Walden Woods and even luckier for us, they happened to have both cabins available for the weekend we were planning!  Bob and Pam are great hosts.  The property and scenery is beautiful.  The cabins are beautifully and fully furnished including all kitchen utensils, dishes, pots, bathroom towels, linens and extremely comfortable beds.  They even offer a "wash house" with two washers and dryers.  I enjoyed talking to Bob and Pam and meeting Junie, their dog. She will give you all the kisses!  If you're looking for a great place to stay, please consider Walden Woods.  I know that we'll be back!

  Amazing place to stay! Beautiful views, private, clean and the owners are the best! We have been there several times to ride the trails and my husband says if we are going to Tennessee there is no other place to stay!
